Gold in Orangeville!
The Intermediate Wild captured Gold in the Orangeville Sweetheart Tournament, going undefeated over their 5 games.
Finishing in first place during Pool play, the Wild secured a bye directly to the finals. The Wild outscored their opponents 24-4 during the tournament with 3 shutouts, including a dominating 9-0 victory to end Pool play and a 3-0 win in the Gold Medal game.
Strong forechecking and unselfish team play allowed the Wild to dominate each game territorially. As the tournament progressed, the Wild rounded out their effort with exceptional defensive team play. Allowing only a total of 14 shots over their last two games, the Wild limited their opponents to 1 shot in the 3rd period of each game.
The Intermediate Wild are looking to continue their successful season as they wrap up league Playoffs and compete in upcoming tournaments in Hamilton and Brampton.
