Woolwich Wild Finish 2013-2014 Intermediate KMHA Season With Gold in A Finals
The Woolwich Intermediate finished up its second regular season with a Gold medal in the KMHA A Pool Finals.

Following a regular season of 17-3-4 in league play, including 8 shut outs, the Wild’s team game carried them to victories over Stratford and Twin Centre in league semi-finals and finals respectively.

During the regular season, the team enjoyed a potent offence averaging 28 shots and 3 goals per game.  While playing an entertaining and uptempo brand of hockey, the commitment to a disciplined team game was evidenced by only giving up an average of 13 shots per game with a stellar 1.00 goals against average and a 92.5 save percentage during the regular season.

For the year, the team’s record currently stands at 27-4-6. With a Silver Medal in the Jason Cripps Tournament and an undefeated Gold Medal effort in the Orangeville Sweetheart Tournament, the Wild are looking to cap off their great season with strong showings in upcoming tournaments in Hamilton and Brampton.

The Intermediate Wild coaching staff credit balanced scoring, unselfish team play and the ability of the players to make in-game adjustments as keys to the team’s success this year.  Harmonious team dynamics both on and off the ice also contributed to a very competitive, consistent and sportsmanlike team.

With many of the Intermediates planning on returning to play together to represent Woolwich next year, expectations are equally high for a similarly great 2014-2015 season.
