Refereeing is a flexible job that pays well and can give your daughter an opportunity to give back to the game of hockey.
Being a referee during high school or university is a great part time job because you are able to choose what days and times you are available to ref. And if your daughter is heading off to university, what better than a job that is transferable coast-to-coast as long as there is a hockey team to ref.
Reffing also pays well! Your daughter would make $20 for reffing a Novice game and it only goes up from there. In Elmira, we have a supportive community of officials. With 4 supervisors, multiple junior officials acting as mentors and a caring group of people, your daughter would have all the support she needs to succeed.
